This is a 9 inch ornate pewter candlestick for a taper candle with a 4 3/4 inch base tapering to 1 1/2 inch at the top. The squared off eight-section base has two different design elements with a scalloped edge. The base unscrews for storage. The octagonal division theme is carried on into the candlestick itself which consists of seven different size sections. If you count the base, that is eight sections.
