This is an antique Repousse design pewter plate designed to be a wall hanging. It was made in Holland, although you will find some of these type of plates with an Italy sticker on them. The maker's mark is an angel with it's arms out surrounded by a circle of chain links.I don't know the manufacturer's name. The plate is in excellant condition and would be a great addition to any collection.

Repousse is the art of beating and carving metal from the reverse side to emboss a design into the front side. There is a hole in the back for hanging.

I don't know much about this one. The design appears to be a man and woman sitting at a table. The man is counting coins while the woman looks at a book. She looks at him as she turns the page They are dressed in clothing of the period. I am unable to say what period this is or what the scene represents; but it could be a married couple going over the books and paying the bills.

I have seen other descriptions that mused that this might be a bar scene or a scene from the Merchants of Venice. If anyone know any different, I would be grateful if you would email me with the details.
