SOLD OUT
This antique bow brooch has a "C" clip. Most likely from the Victorian Era,this type of clip was used up until the early 1900's. The bow is made of plated metals in three colors, pink, gold, and silver. I think the pink may be rose gold over Sterling Silver as there is a chipped place on this area that has a black patina; but this is just speculation on my part. The top of the bow is pink, the bottom is gold, and the bow is "tied" with silver metal. The gold and silver parts cold joined with a rivet. The "C" is fashioned out of the gold metal, and the pin pivot is attached by way of another cold joined tab of the gold metal which was left when the pattern was cut. No solder was used to construct this pin.
The brooch is in good condition for it's age. The surface is scratched up in places; and there are a couple of spots where the plating is missing. I did take the liberty of wiping the piece with a damp rag because it was very dirty; but no polishing compound was used. The brooch measures 4" x 1 1/2" x 2".
